Hello family
I am curious to learn more about the power (horsepower) management in the hybrid max variant. I own one and while driving i have observed that the battery level generally stays less than 50% on the dashboard if I have my feet on the throttle. Q1: Is it the same for other users too?
My understanding is that the IC engine provides 260 horsepower and the motor in the rear provides another 100ish HPs (correct me plz if I am wrong).
Q2: Now the nerdy question: Is it actually 350 horsepower when the battery is almost depleted? Say i am driving on a highway with 130kmph speeds at a stretch, the battery wont charge much. So how does the car manages to keep the power to that level?
Practical aspects: - I know I actually wouldn’t need that much power at all the time - The battery provides the instant boost upon pressing the pedal hard - On highway my gas mileage is around 9.6 to 10.3 L/100km and in city its actually better at 8.8 to 9.xx, maybe because the EV mode is active more.
This is just an exploratory question. Please drop observations and comments.
Thanks.
