So last night I was driving my 1996 Tacoma home after taking the girlfriend and her daughter out trick or treating in a buddies neighborhood. Thankfully they were not with me but my dog was in the passenger seat. I have a couple old couch cushions in the leg well so she can easily lay down while we're driving.
3 lane expressway I'm in the car right lane so I can get off at the next exit. Big lifted F-350 is right beside me and decides to fairly aggressively get over into my lane. I lock the brakes up and avoid a collision but start fishtailing pretty bad. Dropped it into 3rd which got it back straight but was already heading off the road nothing I could do. Go through some brush and end up with the hood wedged under a downed tree. Had to have been going at least 50-55 when I flew off the road.
Guy did pull over and was very apologetic. Paid for a tow truck to come out and winch me out. We exchanged insurance information and he was on his way. Taco fired right up and I drove it home. Dropping it off with my Mechanic on Monday but I believe everything mechanical is just fine!
Dog and I we both a bit startled but both perfectly fine. Tis but a scratch for my Grandpa's ol 96 he gifted me when he couldn't handle the manual transmission anymore at the age of 96.
Figured y'all would enjoy the story and the real life Toyota strong demonstration.

I remember I got forced off the road in NH, because some white trash tweaker was trying to make it to the race track.
Cops did NOT care and I had to have my van pulled from a ditch
