Tire wear on 23 hatch SE

So I took my hatch into discount tire for a rebalance since they are shaky at high speeds they fixed the issue, they were explaining that my tires are at 5/32 and they only have 9k miles on them they said since it’s a softer compound. Is this normal for 9k miles. Yokohama Avid GT 205/55r16. Whats y’all’s average mileage on factory tires?
