If you have a tacoma and p500 errors would love to hear your thoughts....

Anyone else get the check engine light come on, have it diaged and it turns out to be a P500 speed censor error. Light will go out and come back on at different intervals. Dealership is giving me the run around have looked at same issue 3 times over 3 years. Mean while I cannot smog it because the light is on, (emission pass with flying colors). My research has pointed to bad instrument panel. Today they finally tell me another customer has the same issue, want to change the cluster now. Any thoughts. Purchased brand new, no rewiring of any type, in perfect shape with 165k on speedo. Like all 3 of my toyota trucks, never an issue besides this and normal maintenance
