Diving in Townsville good?

What's the diving scene like here in Townsville? I only know of RAD diving, but before I go there I wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience, with the local schools and what are they like in terms of teaching, patience, are they any good with teenagers and what are the dive sights like? Also an idea of cost would be great. I have already an open water license but I want to get my teen son into it too. Thanks
