Feeling like an impostor...
Post Body

I have mild tics and they're often not visible. I've been diagnosed with mild Tourette's by my pediatrician, but my parents (especially my mother) don't seem to acknowledge or sometimes even believe the diagnosis. My tics are often muscular and in my legs, so they aren't visible. It makes me wonder sometimes if I really have TS and sometimes I feel like an impostor in that community. I have had mild tics throughout my childhood such as a weird clicking sound and being unable to stop my feet from tracing figure-eights while I was in the bathroom. It's hard, especially when people aren't inclined to believe you and sometimes you doubt your own validity.
