finally saw a neurologist

Post Body

So, long story short: I went to see a neurologist for a consultation last year right before everything shut down. They scheduled an eeg and mri for later that month, but called the same day they called to tell us the dates of those appointments and cancelled them, and never called back to reschedule or anything. So, as a result, I had to start the process all over again.

My original appointment date for the new neurologist I'm seeing was supposed to be back in late April, but the office called the day before the appointment was supposed to happen, and said they had to cancel and reschedule. That was incredibly annoying, but fast forward to last week, and I finally saw my new neurologist.

She prescribed me a medication to hopefully lessen the frequency of my tics, and is scheduling an eeg and recommending a neuropsych eval, as quite a few things could potentially coincide with my tics. The eeg is recommended because I have a relative who has myoclonic seizures, and the neuropsych eval is to evaluate me for asd, adhd, and anxiety, as I have a family history of those as well. Which, I guess is lucky for me because I've been meaning to ask if I can get evaluated for asd and adhd.

So, that was how it all went, and I am so freaking happy I am finally starting the process of getting things figured out.
