Diagnosed at 17... people don’t believe me
Post Body

Let me start by saying I’ve had mild motor tics since I was about 11. It wasn’t until about a year ago at the start of quarantine that they got really bad and I started having vocal tics that consisted of full sentences of usually violent content. I finally got diagnosed with TS maybe 6 months ago now but here’s the issue: how am I supposed to explain once I get back to school why I have Tourette’s now? Even some of my closest friends think I’m faking it and it’s so frustrating. Has anyone else dealt with getting diagnosed late in their teens and having to prove themselves? Any tips?
