Now, I really don’t want this post to be too gushy, but it’s Cody appreciation day, so I have to give him the biggest appreciation post I can.

Cody’s my favourite TD character, and probably one of the main reasons I got sucked into the show. There’s just something about his geekiness and awful luck with women that reminds me a little of myself. I’ll always relate to him and the fact that there’s someone in a show I love that shares quite a few of my traits (even down to our love of music) will always be special.

Also, the amount he goes through on Total Drama is outstanding to me. He gets mauled by a bear, abused by a purple-haired mistake for a full season and comes within a cat’s whisker of the million in WT only to be fed by a shark; yet he still keeps his head held high. That paired with the implication of childhood neglect in Aww, Drumheller really hits home to me that Cody is among the most resilient characters in TD, if not the most resilient himself.

And that is why Cody deserves more love in my opinion. Happy birthday Codemeister, and thank you Peter Oldring for bringing him to life.
