Question about the new Chinese version of Total War Arena

I love the Total War series. Spend a lot of time on total war arena til the end. Now I heard that it has been resurrected. As it is now being held by a Chinese corporation, is it safe to download this game? No offense against the Chinese. It's just that the Chinese government is accused of forcing Chinese corporations to illegally collect data from it's users.

Netease has published several games that westerners play safely. They tend to specialise in mobile games, but I would say the game is pretty trustworthy.That being said, I still feel uncomfortable about using their gaming VPN.

edit: you don't need to use their VPN to play the game, just some people say it helps lower ping.
