We have some further changes coming to the matchmaking algorithm. The following changes will be live very soon (within the hour).
First up, we’ve removed T8 from the high tier matchmaking band, they exist now solely in the T7-8 tier band, with no T8-9 band so as not to take T9s out of the T10 band.
Also based on your feedback, we’ve increased the weighting of parties. The algorithm still doesn’t view them as the highest priority (tier and unit type are still key), but they are more heavily considered than before. We’ve also reduced the Ping Coefficient in the algorithm.
Please leave your feedback about the effects of these changes below, especially about the tier band changes for T8-10 players.
