Hi. As the title states, I’m in a hard place. A slew of medical problems here, liver transplant 2014, ESRD and dialysis (2017-2019), legs are completely atrophied at this point. I was ready to schedule surgery before I got this bad last year but lost medical insurance because divorce finalized in October. I’ve applied for Medicare part b in January after being denied Medicaid, however state services have said there isn’t much Medicare will for me in Nevada. I haven’t heard from SS about my part b application. Every day is excruciating and I’m doing every I can to eat healthy, maintain low weight, exercise as much as I can (basically playing beat saber through the pain). The surgeon I consulted with took X-rays and basically said “yeah, you need total replacements and we can get you scheduled pretty quickly” before losing my insurance but he never told me the condition. I’ve been depressed and gave up on myself. I’ve been doing the working out and trying to better myself since the beginning of June, when something in my head changed and I decided to stop mourning my past. I am on SS disability and have been accepted into vocational rehabilitation, however I don’t have medical records explaining the problems with my hips and they need that information to start setting up my rehabilitation. Without insurance I don’t know what to do? Save and pay out of pocket I guess, but would an ER do anything or just process and push me out? Asking because the only medical I have is Medicare part A. Advice and guidance. I know I’ve not made great decisions with this situation, however I’m determined to see this through and walk again. Tl;dr I’m a loser, help me please.
