With the jays in the running for Ohtani and a likely $500-600 million deal, what’s his long term pitching outlook? What is the precedent for pitchers retuning to form after second TJ surgery? I’m not saying I don’t want Ohtani, if you have the opportunity to sign him you take that chance every single time. Just curious what everyone’s expectations are when he does return to the mound? Starter? Closer? Because the deal is based on being a generational talent as a two way player, but what if he’s never the same pitcher?
