Brett Lawrie comes to mind. Maybe David price when he first came but that was a premium deadline acquisition. Glenallen Hill. Nelson Liriano. I recall them having hot debuts but they were kids.
This feels special. A guy who we respected the hell out of but hated watching play against us and beat pillar for the gold glove.
He looks to be having the time of his life playing on this team.
During the intros he came out of the dugout like Sammy Sosa in 98.
Plus that road trip where you saw his (and varshow’s hustle), PLUS the new stadium layout the love for him was instant.
Then he makes that catch. And gets a cheer the level of which he never got in Tampa. Then hits the homer and doesn’t even have his helmet off before he’s back out celebrating Springer.
I really like this guy in the 9 spot and holding it down in centre.
What a great add. He’s the veteran for middle aged guys like me to cheer for. You know, the 32 year old veteran.
Who else has taken the dome by storm?
