So I saw the r/askto post that brought about this sub like I suppose most of you did, and I never thought I'd be posting something like this to reddit, but I figure there's nothing to lose and everything to gain.
As far as why I'm single? Other than online being tough, I just had not been at a spot in my life where I felt I was ready for a commitment, which I absolutely am now. I wanted to be sure before I started properly putting myself out there that I had all other important aspects of my life in order. Either the timing was off, life events getting in the way, Covid getting in the way, but that's all behind me now.
I am a touch below the age range meant for this sub at 28, but I had a life experience a few years ago that had a very big impact on my perspectives about life and things in general, and I think has made me more mature than my age for it. I know with certainty that I am looking to find that connection, settle down with the right woman, and ideally have children. And I also would guess there may be some late 20-something's who may have stumbled on this place as well. I'd say I'm a bit looser on the age range, within 4 years or so.
As far as hobbies go, a lot of the usual stuff, popular movies, tv shows, sports(Leafs/soccer), and otherwise I just generally really like being outdoors. I've been trying to change things up though, signed up for a couple sports rec leagues for the winter, started a new gym routine, and I'm definitely of the mind to be trying out and finding other new hobbies, especially if I could also share it with someone!
I would also definitely say that health and fitness become much more specifically important to me over the past few years, again just in light of the last 4 or so years.
In the interest of disclosure and no surprises, my background is European/Mediterranean, tall-ish(>=6ft), and an average to lean figure. I have a decent, stable WFH job, and my own apartment near the core. I would overall say that I'm happy with my life as it is right now, I'm just missing one really important thing.
If any of that sounds good to you, or you even just want to talk, feel free to DM me!
