Is this a good enough confirmation for refusal to reassign and to sign an N9?
Post Body

Hi fellas. I signed a 1-year lease with my landlord starting December 1st 2023. Circumstances now have me wanting to move out on August 31st , 2024 i.e. 3 months before the end of lease term.

I requested my landlord to allow me to reassign my lease to someone else and move out August 31st. She has now refused and responded the below. I understand that I have 30 days from the date I made the request (June 24th) to send her the signed N9 form, am I right? Could I still mention my move out date as August 31st? And do I need to be mindful of something else? Please help a girl out. Thanks a bunch!

My landlord’s reply was below (just for reference)

β€œSince I intend to move back into my apartment, assigning the lease to some else won’t be a viable option.

In those circumstances, I cannot and therefore do not give you my consent to assign the lease.

Please simply provide me with a signed N9 Form (see attachment).”
