I have a pre construction project townhouse I got on an assignment. I originally signed the purchase agreement in April 2021 and the assignment hand over was finalized in November 2021. My lawyer has been very unhelpful throughout the entire process. The house is closing sometime late May 2022. Is it too late to get a new lawyer? And would I have to pay my current lawyer anything?
The only document I could see as potentially being legally binding would be the joint retainer I signed which was in regards to my wife and I both doing business with him.
