Posted this to point out that everything has good and bad parts. Banning AirBnB's without adequate hotel space across BC is killing the economies of vacation towns and once those towns are dead no one will want to live there which kills the whole point of adding housing supply. My suggestion would be to leave it to individual cities to decide if banning AirBnB is right for them rather than a one size fits all solution.
Kelowna is one of the largest cities in BC outside Vancouver so if it dies then everyone just moves back to Vancouver which makes things worse overall.
