This might be a rant and not belong on this page I guess but idc that much! Iām tired of the standards for (especially) gay people. Why has it become the norm for only supper skinny people or fit muscular people to be deemed attractive. Just look at other subreddits people that are in average-to chubby range for builds get barely as much attention as skinnies and guys with hella muscle. Itās dumb I my self would take an average/dad bod with a muffin top tummy over any athletic guy. And before People start saying āitās all about preferencesā it really isnāt at this point I donāt fit into either being an average build my self and itās just dis heartening to see how people treat I guy like me compared to someone that fits that āamazingā standards built up in the lgbt community. And to top it off itās causing a lot of mental health problems in youth and adults because they arenāt seen attractive by the wide majority of people and seeing only skinny twinks and buff jocks in the media (for gay content such as shows and other stuff) isnāt helping! And im almost 100% positive this is causeing a rise in EDs no matter what age!
(Sorry for any misspelling I was typing quick and didnāt truly read over) sorry but I just really needed this off my chest it bothers me every day I see the hints of this in media just gonna use an example here on other subreddits theyāll say stuff like ādo you think Iām to skinnyā again sorry this is ranting and not whatās normally posted on here but I feel it needs to be discussed!
Edit: Iām not trying to complain sorry if it came off that way I meant it in a concerning way as it looks like the standards are turning towards bodies that are unhealthy to achieve and maintain!
