Hi all. I finally got to see my new chest at my post op appointment today. I’m beyond happy with how everything looks so far, I literally cried my eyes off in the clinic because of how happy I am.
One thing that surprised me was that my chest feels really heavy. It doesn’t feel heavy when I walk around (infact I feel a little lighter if anything, they took off a lot of breast) but when I breathe it feels heavy, like a weight or something is on my chest. I’m breathing fine, for having bandages on my chest anyway.
The nurses told me that it’s normal but I’m wondering if anyone here has experienced this and when it will go away. Nobody told me about this and it’s kind of stressful because when I’m still my brain kind of defaults to thinking my breasts are still there. Not anything major, I just wasn’t expecting it.
Thank you!
