TLDR at end. I wear a kind of tight T shirt at work. Not very tight, just fitting to the point that the edges of my old stretched-out binder are starting to be noticeable through it. I know that double-binding is bad, but I was thinking of getting regular compression shirts to act as an undershirt which should help the edges stay flat without being too much. I also considered getting a new binder altogether, but they're expensive.
Then I got a call saying I can get top surgery significantly sooner than expected. W000t! Though this raises a new question. Now that my surgery is only 2 months away, I'm definitely not spending the money on a new binder. However, even though it's only 2 months the possibility of people noticing the old binder edges still really bothers me every day. Especially because I'm afraid that someone at work will see the outlines, hear that I'm taking time off for a surgery soon, and put 2&2 together. So the compression shirts seem like a good solution in the meantime.
The thing is that I'm pretty broke and even a set of compression shirts for like $30 is a lot now that I'm suddenly expecting a $4k bill in around 3 months. I could justify it if I'd keep wearing them soon after surgery. I could use them for working out once I'm able to do that again, but that will be a long time from now. So...
TLDR; After you don't need the post-op compression binder anymore, is it a good idea to wear a normal men's compression top? Good, bad, or neutral?
