I Thought That I was Truly Alone... But Now Show me Your Car
Post Body

Now I know that I truly am because this sub is dead as hell. Okay but for reals though, as a gay back man living in DFW I've gone through a handful of existential crises in the past ten years trying to figure out where I belong, who "my people" are.

I've met LGBT people who, while I can get along with em, I'd never call them "friend". We have nothing in common besides who we like to bang and that's not a very good reason for me to be someone's friend. I'm not keen on how PRIDE presents itself as a monolith of liking drag shows and heels and nipple free t-shirts during parades. It's cool to enjoy those things, but alas I do not enjoy them.

But those people, you see, they all have their own "people". One dude I know is in a furry group and that's where he's made all of his friends. They go to cons, chat through telegram, and draw weird cartoons together. The other LGBT human that I know is into the party-club-kid scene and is just living it up in Dallas's gayborhood. And my straight friends all have their own groups and I rarely ever see them. It feels like I'm an extra curricular friend, a token back gay friend to hang out with to make yourself feel better.

So it's got me thinking that the solution to my embarrassing friend deficit is for me to find my own "people", and after long deliberation I think I they're gay car guys.

Car guys are rare already but gay car guys might as well be non-existant. So I'm glad that this sub exists. Even if no one is probably ever going to post here again, I actually feel good knowing I'm not the only gay dude who's super into cars.

tldr: I felt truly alone for an entire decade but finding this sub has given me a glimmer of hope.

Anyway if you've read this far, show me your car! Here's my sick ass Veloster Turbo with plastidipped stripes and a BPV mod that makes it (sound) fast. I'd post a photo but I don't know how. Lol
