If withholding information reveals a secret, does that mean I broke the swear? Do I have to lie to keep the secret hidden? What counts as breaking a swear?

I swore I wouldn’t tell some body something. If Said person ask me about it, what can I do other than lie? It’s the type of secret that if I don’t answer or dodge the question, it will reveal the truth. Do I have to lie in order to not break the swear?

Does telling Reddit the secret count as breaking the swear not to tell anyone?

I’m not gonna tell anyone. But if someone ask I don’t want to lie. But more importantly I don’t want to break the swear. I’m willing to lie if that keeps me from breaking the swear.
