I'm an international student in the us. Nowadays there are more SUVs and trucks on roads. Something that irritates me is that, why doesn't usa have any regulations regarding the placement of headlamps?
For example; let's say I drive a sedan like honda accord. The driving position is very low to the ground. Now, let's say we have a ford truck, ram truck, or Subaru SUV with the white bright LEDs behind you or in oncoming traffic on a single lane road. Eventhough the high beam light is illegal in city, the low beam of these vehicles is still above my eyesight line in a sedan like accord.
So I'm wondering what if there is a regulatory body that sets a rule that headlamps should not be more than (let's say) 1 meter from the ground. For me this seems like a basic safety problem while driving. Sometimes when these trucks with bright white LEDs are in oncoming traffic, I'm afraid it might damage my eyesight.
I observe some foreign brands like Hyundai and kia keep their lamps low to ground like in their top tier SUVs, which is a good thing. Kudos to their engineers. Lmao
