I keep seeing news posts about how the EU is going to mandate use of the USB-C charger. The reactions to this seem to be a mix people who are grateful, indifferent, and worried that it'll halt technological progress. Why are people worried about it halting progress? Tons of things operate on standardized plugs and if that has slowed down progress, I'm not sure the convenience isn't worth it. How is it any different than the standardize plug at the other end of that cable that you use to plug into the wall?
