So I (21F) have been working at a small children’s clothing store (think OshKosh) for about two and a half years now. But for the past 10-11 months or so my manager has been trying to get me to quit by barely ever scheduling me, at first I was being scheduled only once a week and then it became one a month. And as of today I haven’t worked since Black Friday. The only reason I haven’t quit is because I was laid off from another job when covid started and have been collecting unemployment from that job ever since, which is a considerable amount and have been using the money to pay for school. But I just got scheduled again to work for two hours next weekend. Is it just too weird to go in? Should I just get someone to cover the shift? Or am I overreacting and is it not embarrassing?
Edit: I only say it’s weird because when I go in there other employees just kind of look at me weird and just seem to be wondering why I haven’t quit yet.
