How many calories are in poop?
Post Body
First things first: I'M NOT EATING POOP.
This is about diet, nutrition and the whole calories in/calories out theory of weight management.
When we are looking to lose weight, it seems self-evident that we need to burn more calories than we consume. That causes our bodies to burn fat to cover the shortfall. But it also stands to reason that the body is not 100% efficient and does not absorb every calorie that goes into your mouth. So, is it reasonable to imagine that some foods are not as 'fattening' because we poop out most of the calories? How can we tell? Do different types of poop have different caloric densities?
