Is it okay to drink other things in place of water?

I know you’re supposed to drink a lot of water to keep hydrated and whatnot, but I don’t drink water alone all too often. I’ll usually drink a Monster at work and at home I’ll usually be drinking Powerade or Ginger Ale and I guess I just want to know if that’s as bad as I think it is, and if I should be drinking more water alone.
