Do thinner condoms break easier?

So to make a long story short, me and this guy were hooking up. One thing led to another and we’re having sex. About 10 minutes in he freaks out and says the condom broke. He changes and then we continue.

About a week and some change later we hang out and decide to go back to his house to hook up and like the last time the condom breaks. AGAIN!

I asked him to show me the type of condoms he’s using and it was the Trojan Magnum “Bareskin”. They’re supposed to feel better for the guy because they’re a bit thinner than regular condoms.

But my question is, is this a common thing with these type of condoms? Or does he just not know what he’s doing? I always thought Trojan were yes most reputable ones.
