What scares you the most about this TikTok ban?

The reaction to it. Kids calling Congress and threatening violence or suicide, claiming their life will be over, etc. It's uncannily similar to threatening to take heroin away from an addict.
TikTok needs to go for security reasons, but after that we need a wider national discussion about the effects of algorithm-curated short-form content platforms.

The law is pretty narrowly scoped to only affect companies that are majority-owned by adversarial foreign nations. ByteDance even has an option to retain a minority stake if they sell US operations.
Anything more than that would be unconstitutional.
