How safe is it to use eyedrops?

I use eye drops just about every morning when I wake up. I use them before I'm fully awake to make sure I'm not rubbing my eyes on my way to the gym. I live in deer country and need to keep attention on the road. I don't have any medical conditions or issues with my eyes.
