I get why teens who are scared of their parents checking their texts talk to each other using snapchat, but why are all these Tinder screenshots of guys asking for a girl's snapchat instead of her phone number? Why don't they want to just communicate by text, instead? Is this something that youngsters started doing as teens and just feel more comfortable doing as adults?
I'm mostly floored by the implication that most instant messengers aren't tied to phone number these days.
Also it's a politeness thing. It's far easier to close your Snapchat than changing your number.
