I am 41F single living in the US, never been married with no kids. Just me and my two large dogs. The oldest barks more than the youngest but I’m a responsible dog owner.

I’ve been looking at houses in a certain neighborhood so I mentioned this to someone (acquaintance) who is familiar with that neighborhood but doesn’t live there and he says “it’s a nice neighborhood but just so you know, a lot of special forces live there with their families”

It’s true that this neighborhood is 30-40 mins away from a military base (I won’t name the base) and an hour from a huge city.

Now, I’m a civilian. I’ve never served in my life. No one in my family and circle of friends have served so when he said this in a serious tone, I was and am confused. Am I missing something here?

Pls do not lynch me. I’m just confused.
