I think current US foreign policy in regard to China is self-defeating, and is driving China closer in relations to Russia. Who is currently the greatest threat to the world right now. So my question is, do you think it's possible to de-escalate tensions between China and the United States, and how would you go about doing that? Personally, I'll admit I am a Marxist, but I have a few reservations about the Chinese government. Such as the level of poverty and inequality in China, terrible working conditions for the average worker in China, and China's support of nationalist regimes like Cambodia and North Korea. So I am not exactly uncritical of China, although I do have great respect for Mao Zedong's theory, and work to modernize communist China. More respect than I have for Deng Xiaoping, or Xi Jinping.
I have a few of my own ideas, but I don't even know if they'd be enough. Firstly, I think a non-aggression pact between China and America. Promising not to intervene in a conflict between China and Taiwan in exchange for concessions such as stopping the export of weapons to Russia would be a good start. We can sweeten the deal by lifting sanctions on China in exchange for promises to improve worker's rights in China.
