Surgery was on 1/31 so iβm at day 6. Seems that the pain is worse when I wake up from a nap or sleeping. Swallowing feels like glass is stuck in my throat. Burning/stinging pain is continuous now. I am alternating Hycet and Tylenol every 3 hours. itβs only taking the edge off. I tried to discontinue Hycet 2 nights ago and I could feel pain in every nerve of my mouth. So, that did not last long. i have been eating since surgery day. Things iβve been able to eat: chicken fried rice, hibachi chicken, egg drop soup, japanese soup, roast, carrots, mashed potatoes, grilled chicken, noodles with alfredo sauce, ice cream, milkshakes, & popsicles. I have notice that ice packs around the neck do help with distraction from the pain. I am able to talk but no raised voice.
For those that have been able to eat and talk the entire time, when does the pain decrease? π©π
