3 yo scheduled for T&A removal

Has anyone gone through this with a toddler? My children where all a bit older when they got there’s removed. But my 3 year old daughter already had big meaty tonsils from the get go that not only reek but also get lovely stones occasionally. Fast forward to April she had to do a sleep study, and turns out she has severe obstructive sleep apnea. They are removing hers along with adenoids on Friday. We also have to do an overnight hospital stay afterwards. What will the recovery be like for her?
