So my party has been flying through Cult getting all the info they need and an excess of magic items and have gone through multiple "deadly" combats with barely a scratch so to good tactics bad rolls (on my part) and the fact that they are very hard to hit. (avg. AC 19). BTW my party is level five and I had been leaving multiple hints they weren't ready to go to One and they should go do other things first (other than their guide Salida who wanted them to get to one asap). Anyway they get caught in the ambush by the yuan ti and the yuan ti are more than willing to talk let them keep their weapons and not fight at Rad Nsi wants to talk and make an alliance. 1 party member says no Fuck that were not meeting him inside Omu bring him to port nyanzaru and we'll talk. The yuan ti are bargained down to have him come meet them where they are as opposed to in the temple. He says no and the rogue tries to go hide (with 16 yuan ti around actively looking at him and he has no where to hide). Which causes initiative. The yuan ti focus them first with suggestion and attacks to make a point that are not to be trifled with. The wizard who was bargaining and antagonizing and not allowing anything other than his demands to be met was knocked unconscious and the rest of the party charmed by suggestion. The wizard was healed and is conscious. (Also the I rolled the yuan ti stealth to see if it beat any passive perceptions as the group was talking as they approached total of the roll 20, they are hidden). Did I do that wrong?
