Hi to all tech savvys! So I'm about to finish my undergraduate degree from UST AB and I'm not really happy with that field. So I plan to have my second degree at UST right after graduation. I plan to take BS Data Science and Analytics, the new program offered at the College of Science (CoS) under Dept. of Math and Physics; or BS Information Systems under the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS).
- I really want to pursue BS DSA more than BS IS.
- I've been reading a few articles saying that Data Science is starting to decrease in demand. https://towardsdatascience.com/why-is-data-science-losing-its-charm-3f7780b443f5
- I really don't plan on working abroad, do data scientists really earn 6 digits a month here in PH? How much do they earn as fresh grads? I can't find reliable information re: salary
- Is the data science career going to last as in demand and high paying jobs until the next 50 years?
- Should I pick BS DSA and pursue a data science career? Or pick BS IS and pursue cybersecurity (CISSP)?
Any leads would immensly help and ease my worries. Thank you!
