Interesting linguistics and "MacGuffin, the Hanging Man" in √A Ep 3
Post Body

At the beginning of the episode, immediately after the opening, Hinami is reading Takatsuki Sen's "MacGuffin, the Hanging Man."

She says:

"It's almost as though people look like candy," said the... the... um...

"Um" sounds like Eto. Hinami slightly drags out the word's beginning abiding by it's inherent usage, but that dragging can be dismissed, leaving us with just "Eto."

There are also clear things relating both Takatsuki and Eto together in this episode, so who knows what their relationship might be? If I know anything about Ishida, the use of linguistics in this line is nearly guaranteed to be purposeful though, so this is interesting~

Also, for those who aren't familiar with the term, a MacGuffin is an object or event in a book or a film that serves as the impetus for the plot.

And in Tarot Cards, "The Hanged Man" is symbolic of things having to do with sacrifice, acceptance of what is, contemplation, and seeing from a new angle.

Just throwing that out there.
