How did Shield of Light do so much damage?
Post Body

I'm playing a Sun Pally, and just got some damage numbers I don't quite understand. I was just in a fight with Golbug, and my first couple attacks with Shield Slam and Shield Pummel only did about 150 or so, with Shield of Light doing 56 and 80 respectively. However when I proceeded to use Assault, the main attack did 550, and Shield of Light did a whopping 834 (along with 1k to other enemies that were nearby... I assume these extra AoE hits are from Avatar from a Distant Sun Weapon of Light).

How was Shield of Light's damage so varied here, ranging from 50 to 800 ? Based on the talent description, isn't it only supposed to do a fixed amount of 90% light damage each time? The fact that it did that much damage - even more than the Assault itself - doesn't really make sense to me. I also don't get why there was such a large damage difference between the Shield of Light proc from the Assault versus the proc from the Shield Slam and Shield Pummel. Would appreciate any possible explanations...

Shield Slam did 134, plus 56 on Shield of Light proc.

Shield Pummel did 79, plus 80 on Shield of Light proc.

Assault did 550, plus 834 on Shield of Light proc.
