I work at a homegoods and our store is the most popular in the area, so we get a lot of business. Which in itself isn’t bad, if it wasn’t for the multiple problems all throughout the store. Like how we have been out of wrapping paper for 2~ish weeks with no idea when any more might come in (we’ve been using bubble wrap from the back on customers that throw a fit.) we’ve also been out of big bags for over a month (but hey we have the branded reusable ones for a dollar!). The company has given our employees 300 less hours to work with this week so everyone is begging for hours. And today my assistant manager had a breakdown and cried because she had to pull everyone from the front end to the back so we could empty a truck in time on a busy Friday afternoon. To top it all off? Our store manager has been on vacation so she doesn’t have to deal with the mess. Maybe I should start looking for a new job.
