How to handle annoying coworker
Post Body

I know many people feel differently but I truly love and enjoy my job at TJMaxx.

I have good management, nice customers and good coworkers, except for one lady. She drives me insane, literally bat shit crazy. Every time I am scheduled to work with her I want to pull out my hair and just scream.

She used to be CEC but stepped back down to just a regular returns associate. I am a coordinator but spend 99% of my time on the registers. We were hired around the same time so both of have the level of experience/seniority.

I know my way around the registers, I’m very fast, and enjoy speaking to the customers while I ring them out. Usually that would make any manager happy but it is not enough for this lady. She is so bossy, and expects me to drop whatever I am doing (even ringing up a customer) to do what she wants. Simple things like calling for backup up front when we both have a radio or asking me to make her a ticket for an item when I have a customer and she doesn’t. She’s so lazy, she never does any of her own returns. She will stand and watch me take customer after customer then tell me I need to hurry up and get through them and start to work on returns. She has never done a price check, even if floor staff is insanely busy and there is nothing going on up front. She will micromanage me when I do anything. I tried to restock the drink cooler the other day and she insisted of standing right beside me and handing me each bottle of soda rather than letting me grab them from the cart I had them in sitting right next to me. She will also wander off to look around the store and shop during her shift instead of working. I have caught her doing that at least 3 times by now.

The worst part is that management just lets her act like this. She always manages to be busy when they come by so my complaints and my other coworkers complaints about her don’t get taken seriously.

I am going to lose my cool on her one day I just know it. I can’t work with her anymore. If I ask management, will they stop scheduling me on the same shift as her? Or do I need to quit and find a new job?
