Ancient cities, forgotten people
Post Body

Sometime after leaving Eden Silver decided to switch off any way of tracking them, preferring the solace and lack of interruption from Eden to the constant need for him. A welcome break indeed. The comms channel however stayed open for now, but they too would fall silent. If it was truly an urgent need of them, they’d only be a four hour walk away, even less if they ran.

The winds whipped around the feet of Silvers Titan as they moved through the wastes and towards and old and long destroyed city. Half buried under cliffs and crevices the skyscrapers and parks lay long dormant and dead to the world, unless you knew how to look properly. Water had started flowing once more in the region thanks to the wonders of terraforming and a singular waterfall had been cast down from the top of a cliff and down into the city below it. It flowed down the side of what used to be an apartment complex, flowing over aesthetically ancient glass and curling carpet before dropping straight back down into the bottom of the canyon where it pooled into a slowly forming lake.

Silver had no idea what this long dead city was once called but he soon came up with a name based on ancient Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilisation. ‘Akkad.’ They instructed the Titan to guard the area and descended into a felled series of business apartments with one of their Spectres, bearing a similar head to Silver themselves. The bonus to having some of your own Spectres meant you didn’t have to get clearance for use of them, instead you could use them as needed.

The two of them maneuvered past rotting wood and climbed into a broken elevator shaft, moving from beam to beam and down towards the lobby below. Slithering down the lift shaft they struck a thought to what reminded them to come down here, remembering the request for a Titan not quite within what you would normally expect. Still, it seemed like what they would equate to fun nowadays. Not to suggest this wasn’t.

The comms fizzled out as they hit the lobby, he wouldn’t get any signal until the Titan lowered some of the cables down to him and the Spectre, which was keeping it’s attention focused on the surrounding area for anything that would even look at them the wrong way. Thankfully though, Silver could still send a command to the Titan, ordering it to crouch down and unwind the cable and pulley system from an additional component, hitch them to the surface and stand guard.

It’d take a couple days, but Silver was confident he could turn this into a secure base camp for his explorative exploits of the city. Just needed to swap out the long broken and sparking power cables for fresh ones from a fresh power source. As simple as waving.
