I think the question is pretty self explanatory. Have you had any change in your cycle since losing significant weight in a shorter time period?
Unimportant details: for 20 years I didn't have a period bc of mirena and depo shot. I took it out in Dec of 2020 and got pregnant immediately on my first ovulation in Jan of 2021 😳 before that I only had my period for 2.5 years as a teen. After I had my son in Sept 2021 I got a liletta IUD instead of the mirena and didn't know for 8 months...my hormones were very out of whack. I thought possibly it was my weight bc I was never this heavy in my life, I've always been around 175-185 never over 200 much less 254. To my great surprise I started my period 6 months post partum but it was very light and only lasted two days. Honestly bc I have limited experience with periods, I didn't know if it was normal for my age, the IUD making it lighter or the weight. I never had cramps either. Never really needed anything but a pantyliner. It is consistent with the timing atleast.
But then all that changed this weekend. It came a week early and there's so much and I've had cramps for two days now. It's been pretty miserable. I don't know what's going on.
I read online excessive weight change can impact your period but not a lot of info on it bc it seems like it usually refers to being underweight. I'm down almost 30 pounds in 8 ish weeks and I know this isn't a common experience for people without something outside causing the weightloss like stimulants or an eating disorder.
That's why I've come to you here all bc our experience with weightloss is more unique than other subs or women's experience. I wondered if any of you that have dropped a good bit quickly had any kind of change like this.
To be clear im not saying tirzepatide is causing this. Or maybe nothing is causing this and maybe it's normal. I have put a lot of blame on the lilleta for my hormones issues bc I had 2 mirenas with no issue for 13 years so I will be messaging my doctor about it and likely continuing with my plan to remove it.
