What does "Prioritized Likes" means?

It is part of the "Platinum Tier" but the official marketing was a bit vague (for me at least).
I don't think it mean that "non-prioritized likes" are delivered with latency on purpose, given that I do remember swiping on people and getting matched shortly (i.e. few minutes) after.
So what does it exactly do?
