Is this app “pay to match”?

So here’s the deal, first two days a lot of likes, a lot of matches then 0 activity. I know that this is how the app works but here is the really f’ed up thing.
I liked 3 persons after they liked me, and no match.
Is this a bug or I have to pay to fucking work as intended?
