If I uninstall the app (not delete my account) do the messages I've had with other people go away?

I'm sick and tired of Tinder. I don't really need to go into why, do I? :)
There's this one super-cool guy that is sporadically available, but when we both happen to be online, the convo is awesome. Last chat, we're down to meet and I sent my number.
Long story short, I want to delete Tinder and not even have it on my phone, but I don't want said Cool Dude to not get my number. I'm 99% sure he'll text me...
I could just wait it out, I know. And I will if I have to.
