I'm curious how others, especially the women, define the different "Looking for" options on Tinder, or other apps. For me they are as follows:
Marriage: Person has their hopes/standards up way too high. Who's looking for marriage right away?!?
Long-term partner/relationship: Person is set on dating with a LTR being the goal. Will turn nose up to anyone with a different option.
Long-term, open to short: Person wants a LTR, but will settle for a "situationship" in the meantime.
Short-term, open to long: Person wants to keep their options open, but may change their mind with the right partner.
Short-term fun: Person only wants a FWB, ONS, or some form of either.
Something Casual: Either a) person wants the short-term fun, but you have to "earn it" with date nights. Or b) person just wants to get out of the house, do some casual dating, and go with the flow of whatever comes along.
New friends/Friendship/Prefer not to say: Person wants the "short-term fun," but is afraid to say it.
Chatting: Person is only here to chat, sext, tease.
Still figuring it out/Don't know yet: Freshly out of a dating relationship or marriage, leans more towards having short-term fun, but doesn't want to sound like a prude.
Should there be only be two options: Relationship or Sex? If you're not looking for either of those, then you're probably not going to use a "dating" app.
