Hejsan!
I'm a Canadian citizen who recently received a job offer to work in Sweden.
I am applying for EU citizenship (retroactive through parents) but likely won't be granted until a year from now.
Instead, I was thinking of using working holiday visa for the one year, and by then should have EU to continue working, etc. (worry about that later)
My question is that since I know most people can't get a personnummer on a one year holiday working visa, would it be possible to get a coordination number (samordningsnummer) and open bank accounts and such that way? I have heard that most people who go on working holiday visa have a lot of trouble getting a coordination number because they cannot find someone willing to hire them, but in this case, since I would be entering with a job offer, perhaps it would be do-able/easier?
Wanted to know the feasibility...
In addition, I am looking at this option because the employer would have to file for a traditional work permit, which would take a very long time. We're trying to get this to happen within the next few months instead of a year.
Would appreciate any advice, or any additional tips to be mindful about making the move! Visited Sweden in 2015 and LOVED it; would like to make this work.
Tack! :)
