Friends not showing up on lists

so one of my friends follows me on Tiktok so we can share vids but they dont show up on my lists of friends or followers, and they dont show in the "Share to" section either. I didnt get a notification that they followed me but it shows me on their followed list. any ideas how to fix it? I've restarted and reinstalled the app, and I cleared all of the cashe files on my phone. Im at a loss here
